We encourage participants to submit CHAGS papers to Hunter Gatherer Research (HGR) for publication consideration.
HGR is the peer-reviewed flagship journal of the International Society for Hunter Gatherer Research. We intend that HGR becomes a key resource for research on hunter-gatherer societies. We invite CHAGS participants to consult the journal as they prepare papers for the conference.
Published by Liverpool University Press, HGR is “an international, multi-disciplinary quarterly publication that covers all aspects of hunter-gatherer studies, whether focusing on the present, past or future.” Topics of interest include genetics, ecology, evolutionary anthropology, archaeology, ethnography, ethnohistory, linguistics, indigenous rights and applied research.
Access to HGR is open to subscribers only. There are two ways to subscribe. You can subscribe immediately—go here. You can also wait until conference registration opens in early 2018. The CHAGS registration fee (except for daily tickets) includes membership in the ISHGR, which includes subscription to the journal. Reciprocally, subscription to HGR at any time will activate membership in the ISHGR.
You will get access to HGR soon after paying the conference fee. For existing subscribers (ISHGR members), CHAGS registration will constitute your renewal fees for 2018.
